$COMP is the governance token of Compound Finance, a DeFi lending protocol that once rivaled AAVE. Recently, the Compound Foundation announced a $52M budget to recruit a new leadership team and revamp the protocol around V4, institutional lending, and real-world assets (RWA) in an attempt to revive its glory. The token is not issued by any celebrity or KOL but managed by the Compound DAO. The new team includes former Coinbase Custody CEO Aaron Schnarch. Multiple tweets discuss its technical setup and fundamentals, but no prominent KOL directly issued the token. Related link: https://x.com/compoundfinance
